When to send a client a Shopify discount code:
- Order canceled
- Order specs are changed, resulting in a lower price
- Item removed from order
After the online order has been entered and the payment has been accepted to Cyrious, make the necessary changes to the order and leave the credit in Cyrious. Make a note in the account that there is $xxx as a credit that should only be redeemed when we see the discount code used, and add the discount code name and amount.
In Shopify, create a discount code (ask Kristina or Robby) and email it to the client. The discount code is a single-use code that does not expire.
When the client places a new order and uses that discount code in Shopify, do not enter the discount code as its own line item. Instead, enter the ordered line items, and apply the credit to the order when you save it.
If the client wants to use the credit for an order they email in, let Kristina or Robby know to deactivate the Shopify discount code.
Example:
The customer places an order in the future for $350, and they apply the coupon code that takes $100 off. So, in the end, they have to pay the $250.
In Cyrious, we won't create a line item for this $100, since it isn't an actual discount. We will create it like any other online order, so the order will be $350.
Then we will apply the $100 credit they have on their account to the order, and then receive $250 as EFT payment.
