Slit/Core Language

What versions of Slit/Core is allowed

This will go though the different version of trim slit core and what they mean in production.

Hand Applied

This means that the customer is applying their labels by hand and NOT using a label applicator.

Hand Applied - Use Discretion

This means that production is free to slit the most efficient way they see fit. This could mean they can be slit and then rolled down by hand (No Core) or slit by any number on rolls. Will mostly depend on the size and quantity of the labels.

Hand Applied - Use Discretion - Core

This is the same as "Hand Applied - Use Discretion" with the difference that they need to be on cores and can't be rolled down by hand (No Core). This allows production to choose the best way to slit down the labels. Either slit individually, slit by 2, or slit by 3. Production will normally keep the slit by X to 3 or less, unless the labels width (Across on print file) is smaller than .5"

Hand Applied - Slit by X - Core

This is for labels that are smaller than 1" width (Across on print file). For example; if you have a label that is .5" width, you can do slit by 2. That way you wont need to space out the labels to meet the .85" minimum for slitting. If you have a label with a .25" width (Across on print file) you can do slit by 3 so it doesn't need to be further spaced out, they can be spaced out normally (0.1").

Hand Applied - Slit/Core

This is for longer runs that are larger than 50' ((frame count x label length)/12). Labels will be individually slit and put onto individual cores.

Hand Applied - Slit/Core - Chopped

This is for logo labels that the customer want to be individually chopped.

Machine Applied #X - Slit/Core

Max Y" Diameter

This is used for all labels that are being applied using a label applicator. The X will be replaced by the rewind direction. Y will be replaced by the maximum diameter that the clients machine can handle, default value will be 8".

Machine Applied #X - Slit/Core/Splice Same

Max Y" Diameter

This is the same as the previous one, just with the addition of splicing same labels onto one roll. Labels wont be spliced together if it will create a larger roll than the max diameter allowed.

All versions before this point are the standard terms, the remainder will be much less common

Machine Applied #X - Slit/Core/Diagonal Splice Same

Max Y" Diameter

This is for customers that have asked for labels to be spliced together, but have issues with the normal splicing. This should only be used if they have specifically asked for it or it's in their company notes.

Hand Applied - Trim Only - Sheeted

For customers that would like their labels on sheets instead of rolls. They will be chopped into sheets that are approximately 8.5"x11" or smaller by default. Add production notes if they would like them a different size.
